Decade is the culmination of my sound research over the last ten years or more. On the one hand, this piece has a retrospective character because I used audio fragments from previously unreleased recordings of my live performances in different cities and countries and some home studio fragments. On the other hand, I added sounds, recently produced with some of my current equipment, such as an 8-bit noise synthesizer and distortion equipment, both especially constructed prototypes, and some improvised acoustic fragments that I recorded in collaboration with drummer and vocalist Olga Nosova. There are sounds of acoustic drums, different brass and ethnic instruments, guitars, voices, etc. The composition also includes the sound of ANS, the legendary Soviet proto-electronic instrument constructed in the late 1950s and early 1960s by Evgeny Murzin. This piece is also closely connected to the geography of my concerts and tours, psychological states, psychedelic trips, etc. The composition is structured in a randomized, "blinded" way, a method that I like to use for producing something that is unpredictable and unexpected for myself and, I hope, for the listeners too.
